The Akami gestoffeerd is the upholstered version of Gaber's Akami canteen chair. Unlike the bare shell version, this model has an upholstered seat and back, with its own choice of fabric and lacquered frame colour, which also makes it suitable for meeting rooms and reception areas where you want a bit more comfort and style.
An upholstered seat is more comfortable for long meetings, but is harder to keep clean than the bare shell of the standard Akami. For a canteen with fast-changing guests and spilled food, the non-upholstered version therefore remains the safer choice; for a meeting room or reception area where people sit for longer, the upholstered version is worth considering.
