The Retro desk of 160 by 80 cm stands on panels rather than legs. Those solid side panels carry the top across its full depth, so no crossbar is needed underneath.
You notice that as soon as you slide underneath: on a desk with a frame your knees hit the crossbar; here the space is completely clear. The panels also close off your workstation visually on both sides.
